Self Defence Seminar 29 April 2012
Equilibrium Combat Tang Soo Do (ECTD) was proud to be a part of the sports day organised by the Elderveld District Association. The sports day forms part of the 40-year jubilee celebration of our district and promoted the importance of exercise in our daily lives. ECTSD provided a seminar on self defence that addressed common situation that people face everyday.
Topics covered by the training included:
Awareness, Body posture
Escaping from being strangled and grabbed
Defending against knife attacks

Open NL Tournament 2012
Equilibrium Combat Tang Soo Do participated in the Open NL Tournament hosted by the All Tang Soo Do Organization. This tournament was the first for some of our students. All the students showed no fear as there skills where tested during sparring, hyungs, weapon hyungs and breaking. Thank you to all the Masters at ATO for the great tournament. Congratulations to all my students who each walked away with at least one medal.

Combat Tang Soo Do had its largest junior Gup grading on the 24th of February 2012.Ten nervous students attended the grading and even more nervous parents watched as their kids were put through the paces. Fitness, techniques and mental endurance were tested including a show of strength by breaking boards with perfect focus, form and power. Congratulation to all my students for passing they’re grading and showing everybody what they are made of. Izan was unable to attend the grading due to a bad case of flu, we whish you a speedy recovery.

Senior Gup Grading - 20 Feb 2012
Last Friday Lize and Sylvian passed their Gup Grading in Combat Tang Soo Do. As the students progress, the gradings become more intense and not only are the techniques tested but also how the apply them and how they improvise against attacks. Congratulations to both Lize and Sylvian for their fine efforts at the grading.
Lize van der Merwe achieved 4th Gup (Green belt 3 stripes)
Sylvian van Zomeren achieved 8th Gup (Purple belt 2 stripes)
